Ever since I had became a designer
I always wished to come across an old,
discarded piece of furniture (preferably
an outdated seating from the polish
communist era), which I would be albe
to give a brand new contemporary life.

My dream came true in winter 2008.
I found an approximately 40-years old,
gloss-varnished, dusty armchair right
in the waste container in the very centre
of Warsaw. I removed worn-out laquer,
glued detached parts back together and
replaced the rotten filling with a new one.
Then I painted the wooden frame vivid
sea-green and in place of the original
greyish-navy blue upholstery I put the
new industrial felt of a rag-like look.

I exhibited the recycled armchair at the
'Przetwory 3' Warsaw recycle design fair
in December 2008.
In June 2009 it was published in the
"Salon&Sypialnia" magazine in an article
about punk design.
