FARBE IM KONTEXT

_status:
Workshop project developed during my
exchange semester at the HGKZ, Zürich.
Design supervision: doc. Ulrich Binder.

_about:
Workshop experiment with using colour
in certain environment and its influence
on people living/working/resting there.

Task #1
To find a right colour for a certain place.
In this case for the city of Zürich.
Trams are the main mean of public
transportation in Zürich and all are
painted white + sky-blue, I picked the
sky-blue as my basic colour.
Then I looked for different hues of this
basic blue. I took photos of Zürich
trams in various lighting conditions:
sunlight, shade, daylight, nightlight,
camera flash...
I collected 25 hues, from which I picked
8, making an average of this spectrum.

Task #2
To build a spatial composition with plain
boards painted in colours picked in the
task No 1.
I have used 8 boards of the same size.
My composition might be an inspiration
for a public transportation waiting room,
a ticket office or even a tram-stop.
